Course contents

This food hygiene course is ideal for anyone working in the catering or hospitality industry, or those about to start work in the industry. The course will cover the following modules; 

  • Hazards and controls

  • Food safety management and temperature controls

  • Food poisoning control

  • Personal hygiene

  • Cleaning and disinfection

  • Food pests

  • The role of the food handler in keeping food safe.

Please note

This is a two part evening course as follows:

  • Monday 9th March & Wednesday 11th March  - 5pm till 8pm
  • Tuesday 10th November & Wednesday 11th November - 5pm till 8pm
  • Tuesday 30th June & Wednesday 1st July - 5pm till 8pm

Course requirements

There are no subject specific pre-requisites and the qualification is suitable for learners aged 14 years and over. It is recommended that learners have a minimum of level 1 in English and maths, or equivalent. 

Course length and cost

This food hygiene course is run over two evening sessions lasting three hours each session, with an examination at the end. The course costs £61.00 per learner, which includes the exam and the certificate. Further discounts are available if ten or more places are purchased at the same time. 

The food hygiene certificate awarded on successful completion is the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (RQF).

This course can be taken at any of our training centres or we can come to you*. Our trainers can deliver this course at your business premises, contact us online for further details.

* we can provide training at your preferred business location. If the location is within a 40 mile radius of Dereham, Norfolk or Spalding, Lincolnshire, no additional charges will be incurred. Any location outside of the 40 mile radius will be chargeable.
